Homeschool Maker Series

Our first live cohort: a weekday maker camp where homeschoolers build a micro:bit smart gadget with a custom 3D-printed case — and demo it at a family showcase.

No experience needed

Kids do not need any prior coding or electronics experience. We meet them where they are and build from there. Sessions are grouped by age and experience level so every participant gets appropriate challenges and support.

We keep groups small so every kid gets real attention — not a lecture hall with a screen.

Modules / Stations

Kids rotate through six stations across the program — every station is project-based, and every kid leaves with something they built.

Station 1

3D Printing + Design

Pick or design a small object, learn filament/supports/infill, take home a printed item.

Station 2

Robotics + Electronics

Build a simple moving robot. Motors, sensors, batteries, controllers — and a working obstacle-avoidance test.

Station 3

Coding + Game Logic

Scratch, MakeCode, or beginner Python. Loops, conditions, variables — ending with a playable mini-game.

Station 4

Laser / Maker Safety Demo

Hands-on safety demonstration covering lasers, hot tools, eye protection, and shop awareness.

Station 5

AI + Prompting Basics

Prompting fundamentals, image generation safety, and using AI as an assistant — not a replacement.

Station 6

Final Build / Showcase

Pull everything together. Each kid finishes with a project they can show off and take home.

What ages is Tech Camp for?+

Ages 6 to 17. Sessions are grouped by age and experience level so every kid gets appropriate challenges and support.

Does my child need prior coding or electronics experience?+

No. We meet kids where they are and build from there. No prior experience is needed for any station.

What will my child take home?+

Every station is project-based. Kids leave with something they built — a 3D print, a working robot demo, a small playable game, or a final showcase project.

Do they need to bring a laptop?+

Not required. There is a checkbox on the interest form if your child can bring their own — it helps us plan equipment.

Are sponsored seats available?+

We are exploring sponsored seats for families who need financial support. Check the box in the interest form — it is confidential and carries no obligation.

When does camp run?+

Cohorts run year-round. The Homeschool Maker Series (Tue/Thu weekday mornings) is enrolling now — see the Homeschool section above. Additional evening, weekend, and seasonal cohorts are announced to the interest list first.

Is anything running right now?+

Yes — the Homeschool Maker Series pilot is enrolling: 8 sessions over 4 weeks, ages 9–14, ending with a micro:bit smart gadget your kid designed, coded, and cased in a 3D print.
